As a member of the Tax Services Team, the Senior Tax Associate is primarily responsible for providing tax compliance support in the delivery of U.S. (federal and state) income, gift, and estate tax services to our clients.  This person will work very closely with other Tax Services, Wealth Management, Estate Planning, and Investment Operation personnel in preparing tax-related deliverables for our clients.  Successful candidates for this position will appreciate working in a comprehensive wealth management environment. This position will serve a key role in Clinical Study financial planning and accounting.  Works with Clinical Development teams, Global Development Organization, R&D Finance and R&D Project Management to develop Clinical Study Budgets, Annual Operating Plans and Quarterly Forecasts.  Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX and internal reporting consistency.  Participates in the monthly close process, analysis, and reporting of R&D expenses, with an emphasis on Clinical Study expense.  Must maintain strong influential relationships with Global Development Operations personnel.  Act as change agent for the R&D organization when it comes to providing support to the business with new tools, policies and procedures.

• Financial Reporting. Actively participates in the data collection, review and consolidation of clinical study cost drivers to generate realistic, achievable study budgets and track progress toward R&D operational and financial goals. Using available system technologies (Cleartrial, SAP/BW), prepares appropriate analyses and reports for use by R&D Management. Acts as finance liaison for select clinical study teams
• Financial Analysis. Actively participates in R&D month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process.  Analyzes financial results to better understand and project financial performance.  Provides insight into trends which may require management action.  Uses proficiency in Cleartrial and SAP/BW system technologies to develop reporting packages which track expenses performance against plan and forecast
• Forecasting/Budgeting.  Supports the budgeting and forecasting processes for research outside costs and departmental expenses, as well as the analysis of variances
• Policies/Procedures. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements
• Compliance/Training.  Provides support and training to R&D personnel (i) to ensure accounting and finance policies and procedures are understood (ii) to use SAP/BW technology to track actual expenses and generate reports
