East Bay CPAs Honor Two for Services
to Company, Community
OAKLAND, Calif. — Two local certified public accountants recently received awards from the East Bay Chapter of the California Society of CPAs in recognition of their company or community services.
Dan Heinrich, The Clorox Company’s chief financial officer, was named the chapter’s executive of the year. Chris Yahng received the chapter’s LeVerne W. Garcia Award, which recognizes a member for distinguished service to the accounting profession or to the community.
Heinrich has been Clorox’s CFO since 2003. Last year, Institutional Investor, a monthly financial publication, named him one of the top three CFOS in the cosmetics, household and personal care sections in its survey of investor relations professionals. Previously, Heinrich worked for Transamerica Finance Corp. and Ernst & Young.
A past chair of the California Society of CPAs, Yahng is a tax director for the firm of Collins, Mason & Coté, LLP. Yahng, who also is a former president of the East Bay Chapter, has served on the board of Oakland Rotary #3 and was a director of St. Paul’s Episcopal School. He is a past president of the Greater YMCA of the East Bay and is a former president and long-time board member of the Wa Sung Service Club, which works with Chinese youth in Oakland.
