Turlock CPA Elected President Of CalCPA San Joaquin Chapter
Michelle E. Mord, CPA, of Schmidt, Bettencourt & Medeiros, Turlock, has been elected president of the San Joaquin Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2008 – 09. Mord succeeds Tara E. Eastwood, CPA, of Bowman & Co., Stockton.
The CalCPA San Joaquin Chapter serves more than 600 members in Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. They specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning.
A manager with Schmidt, Bettencourt & Medeiros, Mord previously was the chapter’s vice president.
Mord has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is working on a master’s in taxation from Golden Gate University. She is on the board of Off Center Thrift & Gift, a nonprofit thrift store in Turlock.
Joining Mord on the board of the CalCPA San Joaquin Chapter are Christine Stiles (vice president) of Schmidt, Bettencourt & Medeiros; and Richard Cline (secretary/treasurer) of Bowman & Co.
