CalCPA Achieves 34,000 Members;
Continues as Largest State CPA Society
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The California Society of CPAs recently surpassed 34,000 members. It continues to be the nation’s largest state association for certified public accountants.
“In these tough economic times, our members—especially those who have recently joined—understand the value of membership in a professional association,” said Loretta Doon, CalCPA CEO. “CalCPA membership offers such benefits as networking, free posting of resumes on our Web site, professional education events, promoting of CPA services to the public, and advocacy before governmental bodies.”
CalCPA, which this year is celebrating its 100th anniversary, has 14 chapters throughout California that provide opportunities for CPAs, candidate CPAs and students to meet and learn more about their profession. About 70 percent of CalCPA members practice public accounting, while 20 percent are employed by public and private companies.
