CPA Joel Bock Elected President Of CalCPA Bakersfield Chapter
Joel A. Bock, CPA, of Daniels, Phillips, Vaughn & Bock, has been elected president of the Bakersfield Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2009 – 10. He succeeds Martin J. Goni, CPA, of CBIZ & Mayer Hoffman McCann.
The CalCPA Bakersfield Chapter serves almost 400 members in Kern County. They specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning.
Bock was previously the chapter’s first vice president. As tax manager at DPVB, Bock provides tax compliance and planning for clients. The firm also offers accounting, auditing, litigation and consulting services.
Bock holds a master’s in taxation from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, and a bachelor’s in business administration from California State University, Fresno.
He is the treasurer for the Mendiburu Magic Foundation and a member of the Bakersfield Jaycees.
Joining Bock on the board of the CalCPA Bakersfield Chapter are Rich Walton (first vice president) of Buchalter Nemer, Los Angeles; Oscar I. Axume (vice president) of Barbich Hooper King Dill Hoffman; and Mark A. Taylor (secretary/treasurer) of San Joaquin Bank.
