Michael A. Thompson Elected President Of CalCPA Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter
Michael A. Thompson, CPA, of San Mateo has been elected president of the Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2009 – 10. Thompson succeeds Karen Goodfriend, CPA, PFS, of KK Wealth Advisors, Los Altos.
The CalCPA Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter serves almost 1,300 members. They specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning.
A sole practitioner, Thompson was previously the chapter’s vice president. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arizona State University.
Joining Thompson on the board of the CalCPA Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter are Laura C. Olson (vice president) of Hood & Strong, San Jose; Parisa Nesva Derani (secretary) of Nesva Derani & Co., Menlo Park; and Marianne Y. Zhen (treasurer) of Model N, Redwood City.
