Star in a CalCPA Video
Grab your camcorders and start shooting! CalCPA is hosting a video festival, and we want you to star!
We want to put CPAs in the spotlight via short videos on YouTube. What’s more, we’re offering prizes to the best videos produced by CalCPA members.
Contest Rules
• To enter, you must be a current CalCPA member, candidate member or student member.
• Your video must be
no more than two minutes in length
, including credits if any. You can record the video with a camcorder or cell phone in any style or genre (e.g., musical, interview, western, film noir, mystery, animation, slide show). Creativity counts.
• Your video must have at least one favorable mention of CalCPA, the California Society of CPAs, CalCPA Institute, or CalCPA Education Foundation. (Note that you need not mention all entities; just one suffices.)
• You may enter only one video in the contest, although you may participate in videos produced by other members.
• Your video must not specifically market your firm or services, although you may name your firm in the video's credits.
• You must designate one of the following categories for your entry:

Financial Literacy
Entries in this category should be about a financial literacy topic (e.g., saving and investing, budgeting, proper use of credit cards—a complete list of appropriate financial literacy topics is available at http://www.calcpa.org/Content/communityoutreach/dollars.aspx) or promote CalCPA’s high school outreach or Dollars & Sense programs.

Chapter Board/Committee/Section/Group
A chapter board, a CalCPA committee or section, or any group of members who regularly meet at a CalCPA-sponsored event may submit a video involving that chapter board, committee, section or group event. Only one prize to an individual will be awarded in this category, however. The chapter board, committee, section or group must determine the prize recipient.

post the video on YouTube no later than Thursday, Dec. 31
to enter the contest. Deadline Extended to Jan. 18
Awards
CalCPA may make one award in each of the six categories (CalCPA Membership, Financial Literacy, CPA Life, How CPAs Help Clients, Accounting Student, or Chapter/Committee/Section/Group). Except in the accounting student category, each award will cover the cost of eight hours of CPE of the recipient’s choice. In the accounting student category, an award in the amount of a $250 scholarship will be made. The award in the chapter board/committee/section/group category will only go to an individual selected by the chapter board/committee/section/group that submitted the winning entry. Should any category not provide an award-worthy entry, however, the judges may, at their discretion, decide not to present an award.
In addition, the judges may select a grand prize winner at their discretion. If the judges select a grand prize winner, the award will consist of coverage of registration fees for one individual for a CE Week. Winners must claim and use all awards no later than Dec. 31, 2010. Winners must also be CalCPA members at the time of receiving the award and at the time of their use of the award.
Entry form and video posted on YouTube must be submitted no later than
Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 to be considered. —Deadline Extended to Jan. 18
