Orange County CPA Robert Grant Receives Public Service Award
For his services to Orange County community organizations, Robert B. Grant, CPA, has been awarded the California Society of CPAs’ Public Service Award for 2007.
CalCPA annually presents the award to a member with a record of commitment to public service through participation in charitable, governmental or volunteer work that significantly affects the community, state or nation.
Grant’s history of civic involvement spans more than 10 years and includes serving as a board member and in other capacities for 13 organizations, including the Orange County Community Foundation, United Way and the Pediatric Adolescent Diabetes and Research Foundation.
Colleen Sandrin, Orange County United Way executive vice president, praised Grant for his leadership skills and his involvement with the United Way’s Campaign Cabinet’s fund-raising efforts. “His willingness to set the example of gift giving motivated the entire cabinet to lead and encourage others to do the same,” said Sandrin of Grant.
Added Shelley Hoss, president of the Orange County Community Foundation, “In my more than 20 years of service to nonprofit organizations in Orange County, I have known few volunteer leaders as dedicated, hard-working and visionary as Bob Grant.”
