Outstanding Accounting Educator Award

Nomination Form

The Outstanding Accounting Educator Award is an annual award to be given by CalCPA and the California CPA Education Foundation at the Annual Members Meeting and campus based-venues deemed appropriate. The annual award would consist of a plaque and cash award of $3,000.

Purpose
The program has a twofold purpose:

  • Full-time college accounting educators who are known for their leadership, teaching excellence and who have made significant contributions to accounting education in California.
  • To increase the level of awareness of California Certified Public Accountants and the other members of the California business community of the importance of accounting education.



Criteria

An educator employed as a full-time faculty member at an accredited college or university in California and that has:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and have distinguished themselves through active service in accounting professional organizations.

  • Distinguished by having made a significant contribution to the growth and enhancement of the education profession through course development or research relating to study, teaching and practice of accountancy.

Selection

  • The selection will be made by members through an online voting process. The balloting will be online and will allow members to vote for their choice of outstanding educator and share their views by April 9, 2010 .
  • The educator with the most votes who meets the preceding criteria will receive the award.
  • One recipient of the award will be preseneted each year. The award will be presented at the CalCPA and California CPA Education Foundation Annual Meeting as well as at an appropriate on-campus program.
