PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Summer Happenings
By Wendy Richards, CPA,
OCLB Chapter President
Greetings members and friends. I hope this finds you enjoying another beautiful summer here in Southern California and taking advantage of the various activities available.
Your chapter is hard at work preparing for our upcoming summer mixer at Chimayo at the Huntington Beach Pier. ADP and Wealth Management are the generous sponsors of this event. We’ll gather on the patio from 5–8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, for drinks, great food and to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. The waves should be, like, gnarly, so get totally stoked and join us for a lazy summer evening!
In September, we’ll host the inaugural CFO of the Year awards banquet, and CalCPA’s Celebrating Women CPAs event follows in October. You can find more information about these and other events on our website. Please browse the many choices and register for those you find interesting.
All these great events don’t happen by themselves. The woman conducting and coordinating all the details is our own program associate, Nancy Wilson, who makes our chapter run smoothly by supporting leaders, members and sponsors in a professional and personal manner.
We are so fortunate to have Nancy on our team, as she brings a diverse background in politics, radio, television and journalism to our chapter. Please be sure to say “thank you” when you see Nancy busily managing your next event.
So enjoy the rest of your summer and I hope to see you at Chimayos on Aug. 23.
–Wendy Richards, CPA, CITP
