CalCPA San Francisco Chapter Elects New President

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Andrea G. Cope, CPA, of Alameda has been elected president of the San Francisco Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2006 – 07. Cope succeeds John McWilliams, professor of accounting at San FranciscoStateUniversity.

 

Previously Cope served as the chapter’s first vice president.

 

The CalCPA San Francisco Chapter serves more than 3,200 members in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino and Humboldt counties. They specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning.

 

Cope is a partner in the San Francisco offices of Burr, Pilger & Mayer LLP, an accounting and business consulting firm with additional offices in Palo Alto, Walnut Creek and San Jose. BPM services include tax preparation and planning as well as business audits and consulting. Cope leads the firm’s restaurant services group and is also a professionally trained chef.

A longtime community volunteer, Cope is on call to deliver meals with the Meals on Wheels program and is treasurer of Breathe California, which works to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.

 

Cope has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from CaliforniaStateUniversity, Sacramento.

 

Joining Cope on the board of the CalCPA San Francisco Chapter are Kathy Yu Liu (first vice president) of Kizan International, Brisbane; Jerry Sample (second vice president) of Jerry Sample, CPA, San Francisco; Jamshed B. Gandi (secretary) of Bertorelli, Gandi, Won & Behti, San Francisco; and Karen Pfau-Martinez (treasurer) of Burr, Pilger & Mayer LLP, San Francisco.
