CPA John Moffat Elected President of CalCPA Fresno Chapter

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — John Moffat, CPA, has been elected president of the Fresno Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2005–06. Moffat succeeds Fausto Hinojosa, CPA/CFE.

Previously Moffat served as the chapter’s vice president and secretary.
The CalCPA Fresno Chapter serves more than 800 members in Fresno, Inyo, Tulare, Kings and Madera counties. They specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning. Some of the activities the chapter plans for the coming months include a student night, a mixer with bankers and attorneys and participation in the United Way’s Day of Caring.

Moffat is a partner in the firm of Slater Moffat Associates. He provides tax and financial planning services to individuals and small businesses.
 
A graduate of California State University, Fresno, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Moffat is president of the Fresno Revitalization Corp., a member of the Fresno Historical Society’s board of directors, and secretary of Primus Group Consulting, a subsidiary of the Fresno Area Workforce Investment Corp.

Joining Moffat on the board of the CalCPA Fresno Chapter are Anthony Forestiere (vice president) of Spencer Enterprises, Fresno; Adrienne Cantrell (secretary) of Baker, Peterson & Franklin, Fresno; and Denise Patterson (treasurer) of California State University, Fresno.
