Attendance Policies
To be admitted to your event, you are required to show photo ID and turn in your confirmation notice at the event registration desk. You may print your own confirmation notice online at anytime. Approximately 10 days before the event, the Education Foundation will send you an official confirmation notice (via e-mail, fax, or mail according to your stated preference). Please check this notice carefully for FINAL details about the event facility.
At the program you will be required to sign your confirmation notice and note the time you arrive. This confirmation is archived by the Education Foundation as required by the California Board of Accountancy to verify your CPE attendance in the event your CPE records are audited.
If you need to leave early you must sign out with the on-site administrator to receive partial credit. Random attendance monitoring may be conducted at any course.
CPE Credit Policies
Courses run from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and conferences run from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Arrive early to allow time for signing in and receiving your course materials before class begins (to make sure you receive full credit for the day). The California Board of Accountancy records CPE calculated on a 50-minute hour, which is comprised of two 25-minute segments. Once the first 50-minute hour of CPE has been completed, you will receive 1/2 credit hour for each additional 25-minute segment that is completed in class.
For PC&E (Professional Conduct and Ethics) credit, the California Board of Accountancy requires that participants have a minimum of eight continuous hours of ethics credit. Be sure you arrive on time to your ethics class to fulfill your PC&E requirement.
You can print a personalized certificate of completion from the My Events section of the website. It may take a few weeks following the course for attendance to be officially posted.
Your CPE record, located under My CPE Record, in the Manage My Account section of the website, will track your credit for all Education Foundation and CalCPA events. You can also add credit earned from other providers to keep your CPE record in one location. For your convenience, this information is offered in the same format as the CE Reporting worksheet required by the California Board of Accountancy.
On Site Policies
Coffee and tea are provided in the morning and soft drinks in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided for conference programs only. Parking fees are the responsibility of the attendee.
Course materials will be distributed on-site. If you are unable to attend the course, many of these course materials are available for sale in the reference section of this website. VP members may not pick up course materials on-site without attending as the VP program is based on CPE hours. Rather, they should cancel their registration and purchase the reference materials separately.
Some course materials and supplements may be e-mailed separately.

All self-study exams require a minimum passing grade of 70 percent (except for California ethics courses where the minimum passing grade is 90 percent). You are allowed three attempts to pass the final at no extra charge. You can access your courses at My Online/Self Study.
Once you are prepared to take the exam, you can easily access the online grading system—included free with the purchase of your self-study or online course. You will receive instant results and can print your certificate of completion for your records. If you prefer, you can mail in your test for grading for a $25 fee. The mail-in grading process takes an average of 7–10 working days. Your results will be sent to you via email or mail.
