44th Annual Golf Tournament

We are excited to welcome Kelly Brothers, a partner with Genovese, Foreman, Buford & Brothers, as our golf tournament emcee this year. Brothers is a morning talk show host for KFBK, as well as the News 10 financial adviser.

   Come out and support the Sacramento Chapter’s largest fund-raiser for our Scholarship Fund by participating as a sponsor, player, raffle donor, tee prize donor or cash donor. In 2006 the chapter awarded $14,000 in scholarships to area students.

Fraud and Internal Controls

This course will help accountants understand their responsibilities to establish and oversee successful internal controls and what they can do to assist in fraud prevention and detection. This is a class designed for all accountants with responsibility for financial information, whether as an independent auditor, reviewer or as an internal accountant.
Topics: The extent of the fraud problem, the reasons it is so common and who commits it; different types of fraud schemes; how to avoid an atmosphere conducive to fraud; developing internal controls in relations to fraud; evaluating the reliability of financial information; and auditing and reviewing financial information
