Discover What CalCPA Has to Offer
I would like to start my first president’s message by thanking all of you for allowing me to serve as chapter president for the 2006–07 year.
I encourage each of you to check out what CalCPA and, in particular, what the San Joaquin Chapter has to offer. Attend a discussion group meeting, such as the Tax Committee or MAP Committee, which are generally held in the morning over breakfast. Or attend an education event planned by one of the committees. These events offer relevant, local education at very affordable prices. Take a look at the schedule of education classes that our chapter is sponsoring in the fall of this year.
We are working hard to bring education events to you, so that you can spend time with your family and friends instead of traveling to Sacramento or San Francisco for CPE.
Our chapter also has an active Emerging Professionals Committee, which has planned both social and educational events that are geared toward young CPAs. In addition, for all those golfers out there we have our annual golf tournament, which is both a fun afternoon out of the office and a fund-raiser for our scholarship fund. Be sure to watch your e-mail and future bulletins for more information. Attend the events or, better yet, join the committees so that you can impact future events.
My hope is that you will become involved in chapter activities and come to see all that CalCPA, both at the statewide level and at our chapter level, has to offer. Who knows, you may be writing the President’s Message one day.

Thanks for a Great Year
Hello everyone. Did you miss my messages during tax season? Mark was gracious enough to allow me to write a few words of thanks.
I wanted to thank everyone for a great year. All of the board members and committee chairs worked hard to support all of our activities. We made a great team.
I hope each of you were able to participate in at least one of our events and realize some of the benefits of CalCPA. I look forward to seeing you at future events.
Have a great year.
