The Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in Accounting. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Positions may range from 33% to 100%. A qualified applicant for the position will have a relevant M.A. or Ph.D. (for example, in accounting, economics, or finance), or a relevant B.A./B.S. with CPA licensure and public accounting experience, or a combination of the above. Prior teaching experience is desirable. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required. The Accounting lecturer position will teach courses at the principles and intermediate level that involve an in-depth analysis of recognition, measurement, classification, and valuation issues in financial reporting within the framework of generally accepted accounting principles.

Teaching appointments are temporary and variable, ranging from one to three courses per quarter, and from one quarter to one year in length, with the possibility of reappointment, based on department need.
