The Mattel Investor Relations department is responsible for the management of and communication with the outside financial community as it relates the company’s business performance and stock valuation.  The Senior Manager, Investor Relations will support the Senior Director with day to day responsibilities, numerous ad-hoc projects, and the task of improving the process and communication going forward.  In addition, the position will have the opportunity to support the Corporate Strategy group on numerous project.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Support the development and execution of internal communication and presentations including IR progress reports

·         Preparation and execution of Mattel’s quarterly earnings call

·         Preparation of formal analyst presentations (currently 2 per year)

·         Management of numerous investor roadshow events

·         Day to day communication with the investment community

·         Analyze investor community and identify firms/funds that fit Mattel investment profile

·         Assist in the development of the CEO scripts for earnings calls and investor presentations

·         Support the preparation of quarterly earnings Q&A documents

·         Support the development of the Corporate quarterly earnings theme page and CEO/CFO speeches

·         Support the development and execution of Sr. management presentations at analyst events

·         Manage investor targeting analysis in support of roadshows

·         Support the documentation of all outside communication made by IR department

·         Support all ad-hoc analysis in support of IR function including strategic communication plans

 

Key Characteristics:

·         Independent judgment; ability to identify critical issues.

·         Creation of achievable drivelines and deliverable schedules

·         Requires strong managerial skills since dealing with all levels of management in all the company’s business operations

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills.

·         Strong managerial skills since dealing with outside investment firms to coordinate target list and execution strategy.

Qualifications:

·         2+ years post-MBA experience including investor relations, corporate strategy, management consulting, private equity, and/or investment banking

·         Self starter/able to get things done without formal team

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills a must
  • BA/BS and strong GPA from top tier university
  • MBA from top tier program preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:  This position requires knowledge of applicable state codes and regulations as applied to public school accounting and budgeting; a high degree of technical knowledge and skills related to financial and budgetary analysis and analogical and problem solving skills.

 

Must possess the skill to interpret and successfully implement District policies, objectives and directives; analyze complex and varied data/information from a variety of sources; develop practical and applicable alternatives with justifications; determine the appropriate solution and successfully implement; communicate effectively and tactfully in both oral and written forms; prepare a variety of oral and written reports and presentations.

 

Must possess the ability to supervise, coordinate and oversee the District’s budgetary process; develop and implement appropriate and effective controls and procedures to support budget’s maintenance and compliance activities; supervise, coordinate and oversee assigned staff in the support and maintenance of District’s budgetary process; oversee work flow, reviewing work products and establishing timelines; participate in the design and development of information systems to ensure future accountability and adequate internal controls; act as a major resource to District and school site administrators regarding the District’s budget process, funds available, balance to date; act as liaison between District and a variety of governmental and/or funding agencies; collect and transfer data and information, answer questions, prepare reports, revenues and expenditures; develop information to provide the District with a long range financial plan; analyzes potential program/project expenditures and payment to determine possible financial impact on related programs/projects, projecting various alternative costs and scenarios for decision-making process; prepare funding projections for all federal and state categorical programs; supervise, review and monitor the completion of required forms, in order to successfully meet projected timelines for assigned projects; present and interpret financial reports and budgets to Board members, District employees and community groups.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, C.P.A. certificate.   A minimum of five (5) years of accounting or financial experience which includes three (3) years in a large public or private environment.
