Description
Exotic Electro-Optics, a subsidiary of II-VI, Incorporated, is a leading supplier of state-of-the art infrared (IR) optical materials, optical components, coatings, and assemblies for aerospace and defense markets. Since 1961 Exotic Electro-Optics has vertically integrated its basic manufacturing technologies (germanium crystal production, optical fabrication, optical coating production, and mechanical fabrication) into complex assemblies. These assemblies are used in military fire control, missile guidance, and thermal imaging systems. Exotic Electro-Optics is located in Murrieta, California.
DUTIES:
Manages all aspects of the Cost Accounting function of the company including planning, organizing, directing, staffing and reporting. Responsible for the accurate valuation of inventory and reporting of cost of goods sold in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Maintains cost accounting system that supports compliance with GAAP, the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and U.S government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) where applicable. This includes accurate accumulation and reporting of cost by contract. Supports all departments and senior management with timely and accurate cost, performance and other information necessary for sound near term and strategic decision making. Teams with Program Management to establish and update contract budgets and contract Estimates at Completion (EAC’s). Monitors contract performance and profitability and ensures contract gross margins are accurately reported.
Requirements:
B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or advance degree desirable
Minimum 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
2 years experience managing the cost accounting function in a manufacturing company (preferably in the Aerospace & Defense industry)
Good understanding of CAS and FAR strongly preferred.
Thorough understanding and experience with automated cost accounting systems, inventory valuation and reporting of cost of goods sold.
Solid understanding of manufacturing Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) systems and business processes.
Knowledge of cost accounting practices for government contracts and subcontracts including compliance with FAR and CAS.
Experience with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good managerial and supervisory skills.
Strong personal computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
