Senior Associate

 

The Senior Associate performs complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports for individuals and client families. Duties may include: preparing financial and regulatory reports; reviewing data from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to ensure accuracy; reviewing entries for reporting system; gathering and reviewing financial data for financial and regulatory reports; preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and certifications; performing a variety of analyses or projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems. Provides functional advice or training to lower level accounting positions and interfaces with client family office professionals and advisors.  Assists with build out of client family office accounting and reporting infrastructure such as implementation of online bill pay functions, general ledger conversions, and maintenance of full-charge bookkeeping tasks. Support to the Family Wealth Financial Officer in ongoing sales efforts.

 

Experience should include proven ability/experience in the following:

  • 4+ years Accounting experience
  • Work with individuals and families
  • Estate Planning and Wealth Transfer strategies
  • Estate and Individual Income Tax Preparation
  • Working knowledge of complex investment strategies including hedge funds and foreign exchange
  • Understanding of Financial Planning and wealth preservation vehicles and strategies
  • Managing completion of accounting tasks such as creating and clearing entries to accounts, balancing, reconciliation, researching and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintaining accounting systems and records
  • Production of income and balance sheet statements as well as other
  • financial reports as required by the client and/or management
  • Reviewing items such as consolidated balance sheets, statements of income, cash flow statements, and account reconciliations
  • Understanding and adherance to AICPA accounting standards
  • Ability to research reporting requirements/standards for complex transactions
  • CPA, CFP a plus, not required
