Due to our positive growth and expansion, Marin Community Clinics is seeking to hire a Controller to work in our Novato Business Office location.
Marin Community Clinics is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Clinic and is a vital link for thousands of uninsured and low-income women, children and families in Marin who cannot afford insurance or private health care. We successfully mobilize physicians, other health care providers, public agencies and a network of community organizations to create an extensive health care delivery system serving more than 14,000 patients every year.

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for internal and external financial reporting, administration of financial accounting and reporting policies as established by the Finance Committee and board of directors and CFO, compilation of draft and final annual budgets, maintenance of corporate accounting records and accounting systems.
Responsibilities
• Preparation of monthly financial reports for executive management summarizing the actual results for the month and year-to-date as well as variances from budget and last year.
• Coordination of quarterly and year-end audit reviews and tax return filings serving as the liaison with external auditors. Preparation of materials for the Audit Committee.
• Preparation and issuance of periodic and project-specific financial forecasts as determined by executive management.
• Preparation of annual budget and long-range financial plans
• Preparation of periodic reports required by grantors, State and federal agencies.
• Research regarding accounting practices, resulting from pronouncements by authoritative bodies, or upon request by Clinic BOD.
• Development and maintenance of organization’s accounting records, accounting systems and internal controls.
• Assist management by providing financial input and analysis into business transactions.
• Responsible for controlling costs and disbursements through use of proper planning and approval procedures.
• Manage and develop staff members in accounting and payroll functions
• Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Successful candidate will have the following:
• BS Accounting Major; California CPA active certification is required.
• 8 years of accounting in a supervisory capacity.
• 2 years of public accounting.
• Experience in the healthcare industry in a non-profit environment is highly desired.
• Microsoft Excel advanced skills through pivot tables and macros are required.
• Knowledge of Sage/MIP accounting system with Asset Manager module a plus.
• Must be highly organized and have excellent attention to detail, as well as flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
