Education: Graduation from college with major coursework in accounting or a closely related field. If the major was in an area other than accounting, at least 15 units of college level accounting courses must have been completed. Possession of a California Public Accountant Certificate shall be considered equivalent to the necessary education. Experience:
Two years of experience equivalent to an Accountant
OR
One year as an Accountant II in Kings County
OR
Three years of professional level accounting and/or auditing experience, preferably in a governmental agency. Knowledge of: Accounting theory, principles and practices and their application to a wide variety of accounting transactions and problems; auditing theory, principles and practices; modern office management procedures, practices and equipment; laws ordinances and regulations governing the financial operation of the Agency and its departments; knowledge of electronic accounting and electronic data processing procedures, methods and equipment.
