Joyce Tso, a partner of ASAM, LLP, has over 25 years of experience leading the firm’s accounting, taxation & M&A advisory practice.

Joyce is passionate about ASAM, LLP’s commitment to provide personalized and timely services to the clients. While providing high quality work externally, Joyce mentors and motivates young professionals within her firm in order for them to pave their own professional journeys. Her approach to leadership is humble, yet authoritative; she is an excellent listener and values the input of her subordinates in decision-making, which leads to an inclusive team atmosphere. She has made significant technical and personal contributions to her clients, colleagues and community.

Joyce continually promotes a healthy workplace atmosphere by encouraging mothers to stay in the workforce. Joyce fully believes that a woman who stays in the workforce will enjoy their professional and personal life grow together. At a natural point when children become independent, she believes women can excel their professional ability at an even stronger level, while also being a good role model for the next generation. She believes that women should encourage one another to stay in the workplace because the backbone of a healthy economy comes from the strength of women supporting one another to stay in the workforce while raising their families.

Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Joyce is very active in the Chinese community. Joyce represented the California Society of Certified Public Accountants by appearing on KTSF Channel 26, a local TV Chinese news channel, to highlight financial protection surrounding Cyber Monday and educating teens about money management. Joyce has also made a guest appearances on radio broadcasting to discuss tax changes and how to apply business valuation mythology in estate and gift tax planning.

She believes it is important to be active in her community. Joyce currently serves as President of the HKSAA (Hong Kong Schools Alumni Association), an organization focused on advocating immigrated community living in an active and healthy lifestyle. Joyce also serves as Treasurer on the board of APA Family Support Services, an organization focused on strengthening children and families to prevent child abuse and domestic violence. Joyce has dedicated, and been actively involved, in both these organizations, HKSAA and APA, for over 5 years.

Joyce received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from San Francisco State University, and her master of science in taxation from Golden Gate University. She currently holds active credentials in ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) and CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics). Licensed to practice in the states of California and New Jersey, she is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Business Valuation Section of the AICPA.
