Karine Philippon, CPA

Assurance Senior Manager, Moss Adams LLP

Karine has more than 10 years’ experience in public accounting. Prior to joining Moss Adams in 2008, Karine worked in France at Mazars, an international, integrated and independent organization specializing in audit, accountancy, tax, legal and advisory services. Since she joined Moss Adams, Karine has focused on developing her expertise in manufacturing and technology companies.

Karen Philippon had been a member of the Los Angeles office Forum W committee for the past three years. Prior to rotating off in July 2016, Karine was a member of our Mentoring subcommittee. Karine was instrumental in the design and roll out of our Mentor Program refresh. She worked closely with members of Forum W committees from across the region to create and update the content for the training, workbooks that were provided to all employees, and communications. Karine planned the LA office trainings including finding panelists who were there to share their own personal experiences on how mentoring has impacted their careers. Since the re-launch of the Mentor program, over 80% of LA office employees have identified a formal mentor. Karine herself, already a mentor to several individuals, is actively sought out as both a formal and informal mentor by not only those that she works with but others as well. She is someone who consistently demonstrates that she cares about the well-being and development of others and has made a positive impact on the growth and development of many individuals in the LA office. She also serves as a positive role model for many women in our office as she exhibits how to effectively balance a demanding career and raising a family- Karine is a mother of two young girls, her youngest just born in July 2016.

Karine has also been and continues to be an active member and leader on the Moss Adams LA recruiting committee. In 2016 she was identified as the USC campus leader for our office responsible for ensuring that Moss Adams is developing an on-going relationship with personnel and teachers at USC and that our USC alumni are regularly attending recruiting events on campus. This summer, Karine participated in the sophomore leadership program an all-day event in which over 40 students attended to learn more about Moss Adams and Public Accounting and she served in the role of a team leader for a handful of students at the event. Karine was also able to secure our guest speaker- a long term Moss Adams client with whom Karine directly works. The guest speaker was a highlight of the day, allowing students to hear more about the service that Moss Adams provides and the type of positive client relationship he has with Karine and her team.

Karine continues to expand her leadership impact on the office and region as she was appointed as the co-office leader to drive the growth of our Technology practice. She has been integral in external networking, bringing in new clients, and building a team to support the growth of this practice which is critical to the growth of the LA office. Karine has made significant contributions to Moss Adams and is an example of what it means to be a leader.
