Associate, Millar Law
Ani Galyan focuses her practice in tax law for federal, state and local tax compliance; tax disputes; and tax crimes, as well as provides tax planning for international and domestic transactions. Typical clients include dual nationals with U.S. income tax exposure, U.S. taxpayers disputes with the IRS and state taxing authorities and voluntary disclosure (known as tax amnesty) for both offshore and domestic assets and income.
Galyan has represented taxpayers in tax civil examinations with indication of fraud and criminal exposure bringing the cases to a closure without fraud penalties or criminal investigation referral. In addition, she has co-counseled with criminal attorneys representing clients facing white-collar crime indictments.
Prior to joining MillarLaw, Galyan was a graduate student assistant with the State Board of Equalization Appeals Division. In addition, she has interned with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel.
She was recognized as a Southern California Lawyers "Rising Star" in 2016 and 2017, and was a CalCPA Women to Watch nominee in 2015.
Galyan is a board member of the CalCPA Los Angeles Chapter, where she also is co-chair of the chapter's Beverly Hills/Hollywood CalCPA Discussion Group. She is also a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and other organizations relating to taxation and banking. She is a frequent speaker at professional organizations on topics ranging from international taxation to emerging industries, and has been published in California CPA magazine, reporting on emerging areas of practice for public accountants.
She earned a bachelor's degree in 2005 from USC, a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Loyola Law School in 2012, and an LLM with Highest Distinction from Loyola Law School in 2012.
