CPA James Babcock Elected President Of CalCPA Silicon Valley San Jose Chapter
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — James L. Babcock, CPA, of San Jose has been elected president of the Silicon Valley San Jose Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2006 – 07. Babcock succeeds Michael Gray, CPA, of San Jose.
Previously Babcock was the chapter’s vice president.
The CalCPA Silicon Valley San Jose Chapter serves 2,100 members in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties. They provide a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning.
Babcock is a shareholder in and attest practice leader for Mayer Hoffman McCann, San Jose. He provides audits, financial statement reviews and consulting services to businesses and non-for-profit entities.
Babcock has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from TexasTechUniversity, Lubbock.
Joining Babcock on the board of the CalCPA Silicon Valley San Jose chapter are Roger A. Laux (vice president) of Pinnacle Intertech, San Jose; David F. Veyna (secretary) of Veyna & Forschino, San Jose; and Donna S. Bumgarner (treasurer) of Petrinovich Pugh & Company, San Jose.
