Governmental Accounting & Auditing Committee

The purpose of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee is to participate in the profession's overall effort to improve the quality of financial reporting on governmental entities by providing practical guidance to CPAs in the area of governmental accounting and auditing.

Committee responsibilities:

  • Identify, study and respond to proposals by state and national entities to establish or amend government accounting and auditing standards.
  • Assist CalCPA in developing and implementing appropriate practice guidance and quality review programs.
  • Keep members informed of new standards and regulations with respect to governmental accounting and auditing standards.
