Reg Baker, CPA PFS Over thirty years as a personal financial planner. Served on a 13-member national team that wrote the first PFS exam. Chaired the Hawaii Society if CPA’s for two terms and the Nevada Society of CPA’s for one term. Served on the AICPA Council for two terms, was Exec VP and Regional Director for Wealth Management, Private Banking and Trust Services for Colonial Bank, was State Director of HD Vest in Hawaii and Nevada and held series 24, 66 and 7 licenses plus Life insurance and P & C licenses. Owned Pendelton Financial Services in 1990’s and built AUM to over $55 million using analysis of individual 1040’s from preparing 7,000 tax returns per year.
Jean-Luc Bourdon, CPA
Jean-Luc Bourdon is a principal at BrightPath Wealth Planning, a wealth management firm with locations in Santa Barbara, Camarillo and Westlake Village. Bourdon serves on the AICPA Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) Credential Committee. He is a member of CalCPA’s Personal Financial Planning Committee. Bourdon is a past presenter for CalCPA’s Dollars and Sense education workshop at UCSB. He is Personal Financial Planning chair of the Channel Counties Chapter of CalCPA. Bourdon is a member of the Athena Group, a national, invitation-only group of CPAs with a common interest in financial planning. He has been a speaker for national financial planning and tax conferences, as well as local groups. Bourdon has written many articles as a wealth management expert for CPA Insider, a newsletter from the AICPA. He also wrote articles for the AICPA Wealth Management Insider, the Journal of Accountancy, the Tax Adviser. Jean-Luc has been quoted by national publication such as Fox Business, Financial Planning magazine and USA Today. He is a contributing author to the book “Save Wisely, Spend Happily” which is the first consumer book published by AICPA. Bourdon volunteers for the Money Doctor program composed of a panel of CPAs that have attained the Personal Financial Specialists (PFS). Ask the Money Doctor is offered by AICPA as a public service and is designed to help and protect consumers by providing guidance on basic financial planning issues. Theodore J Sarenski
Ted Sarenski, CPA/PFS is president and CEO of Blue Ocean Strategic Capital, LLC. in Syracuse, N.Y. He has 35 years’ experience as a CPA and over 20 years as a Financial Planner. Ted’s extensive experience in individual taxation and estate planning brings a dimension to wealth management not found in most other asset management firms at the local level. Ted is recognized locally and nationally as an expert providing financial planning advice and has become a national speaker on the topic of social security. In January 2014, Ted was awarded the 2013 Personal Financial Planning Distinguished Service Award.
