Join us for the 23rd annual meeting with the Internal Revenue Service to hear speaker, Lisa Piehl, Estate & Gift Tax Policy Manager. She will provide an update on IRS structure for addressing estate and gift tax matters, address developments in setting policy in the nationwide administration of estate and gift matters, share some helpful tips in preparation of estate tax returns and working with the IRS, and discuss updates on law developments as may be applicable. She will also talk extensively about the new basis consistency rules, including the final regulations scheduled for a January 31 release.

Lisa Piehl, Esq.
Lisa M. Piehl is the Program Manager for Estate and Gift Tax Policy. Ms. Piehl works in Woodland Hills California and in addition to her role as Program Manager she is an Internal Revenue Service instructor and a speaker to outside practitioners on the subjects of estate and gift taxation and IRS practice and procedures. In 1994, Ms. Piehl began her career with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as an Estate and Gift Tax Attorney. In 2001, Ms. Piehl became a Supervisory Attorney for the Van Nuys Estate and Gift Tax Group. In 2006, Ms. Piehl became an Attorney Advisor to Policy Manager and Headquarters for the Estate and Gift Tax Division. In 2008, Ms. Piehl became the Program Manager for Policy for the Estate and Gift Tax Division. Ms. Piehl received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Francisco State University. Ms. Piehl graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, CA where she obtained her J.D. Ms. Piehl is a member of the California Bar is admitted to United States District Court, for the Central District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
