Objectives:

Familiarize yourself with current topics affecting the agricultural industry.

Major Subjects:

Water Update-Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA)- impacts the economic foundation of the Kern Basin.  The groundwater legislation will have impacts beginning in 2020 and beyond.  What those impacts are and how/who will be impacted will be covered.  Possible water markets will be established.  
 
Legal & Labor Issues - Topics relevant to the AG Industry & KC.  Topics include class action lawsuits, AB 5, HR issues, business transactions and updates in Chapter 12 Bankruptcy Laws.
 
AG Land Values- Agricultural values within the County of Kern, the reasons these changes are occurring and forecasting values for 2020 and beyond.
