The CalCPA Peninsula and Silicon Valley San Jose chapters’ estate & trust groups are proud to present this half-day symposium, co-hosted by the Santa Clara County and Peninsula Estate Planning Councils. This year's speakers will focus on "Estate Planning Challenges for the Emerging Wealth," a segment of our client base also known as the millennial millionaires, the unicorns and the entrepreneurs of our technology companies.

This generation of wealth builders coming of age has markedly different views on their definition of wealth and what it's for. With this in mind, learn about the trends of applicable domestic and international cross border estate planning techniques; charitable planning; and social entrepreneurship, as well as how this new generation is impacting how you provide tax, financial and estate planning services.

Objectives:

  • Identify the benefits, uses and types of domestic and international estate & trust planning tools and techniques applicable to the young and emerging entrepreneurs of Silicon Valley.
  • Determine the common client perspectives on philanthropy.
  • Identify income tax saving opportunities available using charitable split interest trusts, donor advised funds, private foundations and bequests of all types.
  • Recognize the need for using goals driven investing philosophy in assisting clients with their tax and financial planning.
  • Recognize the markedly different views and definition of wealth that the younger generations of entrepreneurs are espousing that has led to the growth of social impact investing and social entrepreneurship.
