• Since 2005, CalCPA has awarded 11 doctoral scholarships, and will award two more in 2011, totaling over $330,000. One recipient has already graduated and is currently teaching at San Diego State University. In 2011, two more recipients are expected to graduate and begin teaching, as well as three in 2012, three in 2013, one in 2014 and one in 2016.
  • Over the past eleven years, CalCPA has distributed over $1.5 million in scholarships to college and university students pursuing CPA careers.
  • Since it’s inception in 2005, the prestigious CalCPA Leadership Institute has graduated 84 future leaders of the profession. Over 90% of the graduates have assumed leadership roles within their company. Eleven CalCPA staff members are also Leadership Institute graduates. This year’s 20 Leadership Institute participants, including two CalCPA staff members, will graduate at CalCPA’s January 2011 Council meeting.
  • Provided education, resources and information to more than 20,000 consumers to-date on financial literacy topics.
  • Presented financial literacy and CPA careers information to more than 24,000 high school and college students.
  • Developed and hosted inaugural California Summit on Financial Literacy.
  • Recruited more than 1,400 CPA volunteers to serve as community educators on financial literacy throughout California.
  • Distributed more than 80,000 copies of award-winning Quest magazine to high school and college students to increase awareness of CPA careers.
