Cheung has over nine years of experience in internal information security audits. His experience includes security assessments related to the network, operating system, application and database layers. Jeff is also experienced in conducting physical security assessments for data centers and colocation hosting facilities. He has experience using many of the top security tools including port scanners, source code analysis, password crackers, vulnerability assessment tools, data loss prevention, and packet analyzers.

Dearman leads the delivery of Grant Thornton’s Cyber Risk Advisory Services for the West Region, as well as the firm’s national FedRAMP services. His 17-plus years of experience includes leading cyber-risk projects to implement guidance found in NIST SP 800-53, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and trust services principles, as well as providing technology assessments and advisory services in the tech industry and federal government.

Dewett is a best-selling author and internationally recognized leadership and success expert, a TEDx speaker and an Inc. Magazine Top 100 Leadership speaker. A former award-winning management professor and alumnus of Andersen Consulting and Ernst & Young, he now speaks full time around the world.
Dickerson has more than 16 years of experience overseeing corporate governance consulting projects, including identification and testing of internal controls; risk assessments; internal and external auditing for operations; and optimization of financial and information technology business functions. Within technology security, Dickerson has experience with SSAE 16 audits and Service Organization Control Reports 1, 2 and 3; Sarbanes-Oxley IT compliance services; systems selection and configuration; and data security standards reviews.

Hamasaki, with 10 years of experience in auditing, accounting and business advisory services, is an industry leader within the audit practice with expertise in real estate, manufacturing, distribution, technology, restaurants, hospitality, not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans. Prior to joining KROST, he was a fund controller at an SEC registered investment adviser of commercial real estate portfolios. Along with being CalCPA Los Angeles Chapter secretary, Hamasaki has led firmsponsored recruitment discussions and presentations, as well as taught continuing education courses.

Henwood began his accounting career at a tax firm in Santa Barbara working with high net-worth individuals, real estate pass-through entities and medical groups. After obtaining his license in 2013, he moved to the Inland Empire area to build on his experience and expand into different commercial industries. He specializes in providing accounting, taxation and consulting services to a variety of manufacturing, transportation, construction and retail clients. He is also a CalCPA Inland Empire Chapter board director.

Hoppe, focused on building a career around his life, leads a distributed tax and accounting firm with team members across the U.S. Prior to starting Hoppe Tax, he worked at PwC and in industry at Gensler. Since starting the firm he has gotten married, welcomed his first son to the world, ran marathons, completed an ironman, backpacked 220 miles, climbed the tallest mountain in California, completed a doctorate in accounting, grown in his faith and devoted time back to the profession through CalCPA.

Jacobsen started her career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she worked on audits of manufacturing, food processing, life sciences, consumer products and gaming entities, and served as Chief of Staff to the West Region Inclusion Leader from 2014-16 and led the Fresno office’s campus recruiting efforts. She then joined Moss Adams, where she leads assurance services for privately held, middle market companies in the manufacturing, food processing and agribusiness industries, and leads the office’s Forum|W efforts to attract, retain, develop and promote highly talented women, as well as campus recruiting.

Johnson’s professional experiences include finance reporting; operating and capital budgets; corporate governance; and financial forecasting. Her firm provides forensic expert testimony, fraud investigations and litigation support in the areas of divorce, partnership disputes, damage calculations and estate/trust activity tracing, as well as tax preparation services. She was formerly vice president of finance for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group Inland Division. Johnson also serves as 2017-18 CalCPA chair and is an adjunct professor at California State University, San Bernardino, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, The University of Redlands and the University of California, Riverside.

Osburn provides seminars, webinars and keynote speeches on topics such as banking, finance, credit, negotiations, marketing and management. His contract CFO clients’ include medical practitioners, real estate developers and financial institutions. His professional background of 30 years includes 16 years in banking dealing with commercial lending, loan underwriting, collections, management and customer development. He has also spent 29 years as an adjunct college professor.
Patel has extensive background in tax accounting
for high net-worth individuals. His professional
experience with complex financials is an
enormous benefit to clients when structuring
loans for their unique situations. He earned an
economics degree (with an accounting minor) from the University of
California, San Diego.
Ramsey works to advance the finance compliance program and enhance the Sarbanes-Oxley and Model Audit Rule compliance processes to support Kaiser Permanente’s adherence to federal and state regulations. Prior to this, he was director and managing director of Sarbanes-Oxley and financial governance for the Northern California region of Kaiser Permanente, where he oversaw a team responsible for strengthening the internal control environment within the region. Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Ramsey held various positions with Ernst & Young LLP, Robert Half International, Andersen LLP and Coopers & Lybrand LLP. Ramsey also serves as 2017-18 CalCPA Education Foundation president.
Roche has worked in public accounting since 2004 and has worked with many business owners in the greater Sonoma County area to create systems that support the overall success of their endeavors. Active professionally, Roche is a CalCPA San Francisco Chapter board member, CalCPA Council member and co-chair of the CalCPA North Coast Discussion Group. She also is a conference speaker and task force member for the AICPA EDGE conference and a founding member of the AICPA PCPS Firm in Motion Networking Group. Erin is a graduate of the CalCPA Leadership Institute (2014) and AICPA Leadership Academy (2016).
Executive Presence: Speak Up–Move Up
Royse founded her firm because she believes success demands communication excellence. She works with managers, directors, vice presidents, partners and C suite executives at startups through Fortune 100 companies. As a coach, she helps people identify their brand, enhance their style and create an action plan. Prior to founding her firm, Royse worked as a weather reporter, talk show host and commercial actor, as well as toured the United States with a professional choral and orchestra troupe. Her experience also includes working at Atari as manager of communications for research and development.

Snyder’s experience includes 15 years as a career counselor at Saint Mary’s College and 10 years teaching career development to college admissions counselors at UC Berkeley Extension. A certified trainer in various personality type tools, she helps individuals better understand themselves and others, and to foster team building. Snyder also works as a business etiquette consultant. Her workshops in reception, networking and dining etiquette help companies and individuals understand the importance of manners in developing and enhancing business relationships.
Thakker has more than 18 years of cybersecurity experience that includes project management of large IT governance, risk management and compliance management implementation, and IT security projects. His clients include some of the leading entities in the financial services, technology and health care industries. His experience includes governance, risk management and compliance management program and technology deployments; SOX and HIPPA compliance; General Data Protection Regulation compliance; application security; and network security assessments.
Northern California: Emcee
Wang specializes in business and income tax preparation, with a concentration in the real estate industry. She earned an MBA in accounting from Fort Hays State University in Kansas, where she earned the President Scholarship, worked as a graduate teaching assistant and was involved with FHSU Honor Society. She is cochair of the CalCPA Central Coast Chapter Emerging Professionals Committee, a member of the CalCPA Emerging Leaders Certificate Program Planning Committee and an AICPA member.
